Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of OrgoLens, including its website, scanner, chemistry keyboard, structure tools, Library, Study Sessions, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use OrgoLens for a school, employer, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to follow its rules and that your use does not violate its policies.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an OrgoLens account. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you. OrgoLens is not directed to children under 13 and may close an account if it learns that the account belongs to a child under 13.

Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in credentials secure, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless prohibited by applicable law.

Educational use and answer accuracy

OrgoLens is a study aid for organic chemistry. It is not an instructor, grading authority, laboratory supervisor, medical professional, safety professional, or substitute for qualified human judgment.

AI-generated answers can be incomplete or wrong, including reaction products, atom mapping, names, charges, mechanisms, regiochemistry, stereochemistry, spectra, and safety information. Confidence scores are estimates—not guarantees. Always compare results with the original question, course materials, and your instructor before relying on them.

Do not use OrgoLens to operate a laboratory, select quantities or conditions for real-world synthesis, handle hazardous materials, make medical decisions, or create controlled or harmful substances.

Academic integrity

You are responsible for following your instructor’s, school’s, testing provider’s, and course platform’s rules. Do not use OrgoLens during an exam, quiz, or graded assignment when outside assistance or AI tools are prohibited. OrgoLens may support learning, but it does not give you permission to submit generated work as your own.

Your questions, images, and structures

You keep ownership of material you submit. You grant OrgoLens a limited, worldwide permission to host, copy, process, transform, transmit, and display that material only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support the Service.

Upload only content you created or are permitted to use. Do not upload answer keys, copyrighted textbook pages beyond what is reasonably needed for your personal question, private student records, government identifiers, financial information, health information, or images containing unrelated people or personal details. Crop out names, grades, student IDs, and surrounding material whenever possible.

Acceptable use

You may not:

• Break the law or violate another person’s rights.
• Bypass access controls, credit limits, subscription rules, security measures, or rate limits.
• Probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or introduce malicious code into the Service.
• Use automated accounts or resell access without written permission.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content as verified professional or academic work.
• Use the Service to facilitate dangerous synthesis, controlled substances, weapons, or harm.

Plans, subscriptions, and credits

Features, prices, credit allowances, and renewal periods are shown in the Service at the time of purchase. Paid plans may renew automatically until canceled through the billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout terms or applicable law state otherwise. Permanently deleting an OrgoLens account cancels any linked paid subscription immediately.

Answer credits are usage units, not money, and have no cash value. Included plan credits reset on the schedule shown in your account. Separately purchased credit packs do not expire during an active account, do not unlock subscription features, and are used after included credits. Cached answers may be returned without a new credit charge. We may correct credit balances affected by errors, abuse, refunds, chargebacks, or duplicate charges.

Payments are processed by Stripe. Taxes, refunds, trials, and billing adjustments are governed by the terms shown at checkout, the Refund Policy, and applicable law. Account deletion does not automatically create a refund. Statutory cancellation and refund rights are not limited by these Terms.

Third-party services

OrgoLens relies on service providers such as Supabase for authentication and data storage, OpenAI for AI analysis, Stripe for payments, Cloudflare and ChatGPT Sites for hosting, and PubChem and OPSIN for chemistry references. Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy notices. OrgoLens is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.

OrgoLens ownership

The Service, branding, interface, original content, software, and compilation of chemistry tools are owned by OrgoLens or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the Service. They do not transfer ownership of OrgoLens technology or branding.

Changes, suspension, and termination

We may change, add, or remove features; adjust plans or credit rules; suspend the Service for maintenance; or discontinue parts of the Service. We will provide reasonable notice when a change materially affects a paid subscription, when practicable.

You may stop using OrgoLens at any time and may cancel a paid plan through the billing portal. We may restrict or close accounts that violate these Terms, create risk, or misuse the Service. Provisions that reasonably should survive termination—including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—will survive.

Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” OrgoLens does not promise that answers will be correct, complete, unique, safe, uninterrupted, or suitable for a particular class, assignment, experiment, or purpose. We do not guarantee that every image, handwritten structure, stereochemical marker, or reaction condition will be recognized.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OrgoLens will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost grades, data, profits, or opportunities; laboratory losses; or harm caused by reliance on an AI-generated answer. Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the amount you paid OrgoLens during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, unless applicable law requires a different result.

We may update these Terms. A new effective date will appear at the top of this page. If a material change requires additional notice or consent under applicable law, we will provide it.
